WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO

DOING THESE WILL BRICK THE vWii mode

-Installing regular Wii IOS (not CIOS) on the vWii.

-Deleting vWii IOS

-Installing Priiloader

-Using system menu themes.

Nice summary Pob. I would mention that you can install d2x v10 on vWii (the vWii version, of course).

I have gotten as far as dumping my nand keys for a possible backup. Though I couldn't quit get d2x to install. kept getting HTTP errors. For whatever reason it couldn't connect to the server to download the files to install the cios. I would do a full offline install but Im not sure which ones to install. I saw somewhere else that there is probably a modified cios 236 that needs to be installed first. Though im not sure where to get the modified vWii version. I have found the wii version.

You can grab the latest vWii versions (and all other versions, for that matter) from here. Be sure to use the vWii version.

I have the vwii version in the installer folder. not sure why it still tries to go online to download the files to install. just gives me "Failed to get NUS object tmd.5918" after getting a bunch of http request errors. I have seen others with somewhat of the same problem when i searched it out though I dont want to use NUSD or try anything that fixed it for the Wii.

I was able to get everything up and running. Copied IOS 36, 56, 57, 58 as wads using blue dump. used the vwii modified IOS236 which allowed d2x to work. Now im using wiiflow on vwii with all my backups. Which means I can now hang up my old Wii and dont have to let my 1 and 4yr old mess with my Wii disk collection.

Now if only someone can get Wii U mode hacked....My Mario Bros and Nintendo Land CDs are already starting to take a beating from the kiddies.

Here's my progress

I successfully installed HBC into my vWii.
But I can't install d2x.
I tried using d2x-v10-beta52-vWii.zip and d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.zip.
d2x-v10-beta52-vWii.zip > d2x load the splash screen but it disables the wiimote so I can't continue
d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.zip > d2x cant load. It is just a black screen
