lol if it does, it's a bit late. I believe that Wii has already sold 5x more consoles than PS3. (it might even be more) There's no possible way that Sony could catch up to Nintendo with that kind of gap.

    The war is already won!

Son Sony has been pretty much at war with Nintendo FOREVER. Even Nintendo has been under handed and tried to pull the 1,2 on them ,but failed. (N64 Disc Drive :\), but think about it. No matter how long this goes back and forth these are the two companies that made major head way in the gaming industry. They are always going to have loyal fan bases, and differnt clashing ideas.

Sony didn't design this and from what I have read Sony decided against using this.

    Red face no promise

looks like motion control will be standard on future consoles. seeing how far sixaxis went as far as title availability, maybe sixsense will have a handfull of available games that will justify spending the pricetag for it (which i'm sure is less than frugal). or maybe not. i don't own a ps3, and by the looks of it, i might as well save my money for the next generation. if wii2 or wiiHD or wtf ever its called actually hits stores in 2011, i think it will be too soon.

I agree. Who cares who does what and who copies who? In the end... it's all of us that are the winners. With competition, comes innovation (i.e. new and exciting things).

You can love the Wii and hate the PS3 (like many do), but don't get mad because Sony decides to build upon a technology made popular by Nintendo... maybe they will make some advances that will help out the Wii in the long run... you never know!

Microsoft Unveils Motion Controls for Xbox Consoles

June 1 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. will enable gamers to control Xbox 360 machines with body motions instead of hand-held controllers, a bid to gain an edge on Nintendo Co.’s market leading Wii.

Xbox 360 consoles, including those already sold, will be able to track gestures and recognize voice commands and facial movements, Shane Kim, an Xbox vice president, said today in an interview. The features rely on a box with motion and voice sensors.

Code-named Natal, the product lets Microsoft take on the Wii’s motion-sensing controller, a feature that has helped Nintendo sell more than 50 million Wii units. That compares with 30 million for the Xbox 360. Natal also gives Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft a way to keep the Xbox 360 fresh without having to resort to unveiling an all-new console, which would hurt profit.

Microsoft, which introduced Natal at the E3 show in Los Angeles today, isn’t disclosing when the product will be available, except to say it won’t be this year, Kim said. Natal’s features go further than the Wii’s rather than copying them, he said.

“This is not about competing with the Wii. This is about taking the industry to the next frontier,” Kim said. “If we had come out with a motion controller, it would be fair to criticize us for being derivative and chasing Nintendo.”

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL They are so scared the community will see them as ripoffs, they have to make a statment about how they are not. This is just silly that to catch up with Nintendo and put a dent in their sales they are going to release motion control on the 360. First avatars now this, jesus M$ calm down.
