Well actually Sony already ripped Nintendo off in the start of this all, by adding motion sensors in the orginal controllers for certain games. At least Sony realizes Nintendo's genuis
=shrugs= you can say that about so many things =\

thats just how it works i mean it went from a Joystick to a Dpad, and they all used a similar style for years =\ is that as bad?

down the road, everything evens out, and you can be original for so long

sony is making the same error that Sega did

amazing products, but they cost far too much

    go back and look x3

my main case/point for my coment
    Sega = Nomad

    pros
    portable sega
    Full color
was a controller and had a 2nd player port on the bottom
could plug into the TV, and become a Full sega system
could be rechargeable with a additional tool
    back lit screen

    Cons
    large
    poor battery life
    required like 6 batteries
    could FIVE times the gameboy

Nintendo = Gameboy *it predated even the pocket -,_-,*

    pros
    cheap
    slightly more portable
    better battery life
    had pokemon XD

    cons
    back and white
    no back lit screen
required a lot more to work multi player

    so yeah...

I had read somewhere about the time that Wii came out that Nintendo needed the liscense for the SD slot (That Sony owned) and Sony wanted the technology for the Wii Remote. So they traded so to speak. From what I understand it was that way in the beginning.

So if that's true then Nintendo did it to themselves!

    Just my 2 cents..

The real question here is can the ps3 beat the wii hd to the punchline? I don't think this pushes innovation... in fact its the opposite. lets make more of what's popular. Nintendo did what to themselves? Took back their lead from Sony and bitch slapped them with sales thats what!

I agree! I hope that Wii HD is sooner than later. But I am sure that it's going to be easier to wait it out. That way Blue-Ray will become cheaper! So they can use that platform..

No one wants to claim blue ray right now, no one really cares about it. The Wii HD is also supposed to come out in 2011, but no real date has been set yet.

Well so far even the Sixaxis technology they've had Sony hasn't taken advantage of it. About the only game that I know of that really utilizes it is Warhawk. I can see Nintendo blowing out the competition even more with the next console release.

Well I must say that this is what sparks innovation..

This type of events are always happening like windows vista copying stuff from mac os x but in the end consumers win!

Because now nintendo is forced to do something better than this sony remote and microsoft as to respond too.. So this leads to competition and innovation, in the end consumer wins.
I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. I'm an owner of both a wii and ps3 and I'm sad that developers have yet to really push the ps3 to its limits. Innovations like this are necessary to move the competition forward, which benefits everyone.

You guys should read the article...it's not a Sony wii remote.

The first incarnation will be available in December for PC gaming. It will be backward compatible with a number of popular gaming titles, such as Crysis, Call of Duty 4, and the Madden and NBA Live series.

Big game makers have already had the TrueMotion development kit for a year. By the time the PC gaming version is released, they will have had two years to play around with it.

And although it's not announcing anything yet, Sixense says it is in talks with all three console makers--Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo--about licensing its technology. TrueMotion for console games won't be available until 2010 at the earliest.
