The next Wii update message came a couple of days after this one, it is supposed to help with connection issues.

I did it, and didn't see much difference.

Hello everyone, this is my first post, been doing a lot of homework on this site, and I am going for the WiiKey modchip, at the mo its not chipped but was wondering if I can update the firmware with out connecting to the internet as I dont have it at home, and some instructions on how to please.

yo, thought id add my comment, i updated a wii last night to the latest firmware ( says 3.0E in corner of wii menu) then chipped it with a wiikey chip, it didnt read the wiikey v1.2 setup disc, i paniced a bit, so went to wiikey.cn, noticed the new setup cd, downloaded, wacked it in, configured to play all regions on wii and gc game, now everyting works fine, even the older v1.2cd (a bit wierd) but i hear nintendo change the 'header' format or something

anyway in breif, wiikey worked fine with firmware update, if it doesnt, try the new wiikey setups disk.(v.1.3)

I had been having trouble updating the firmware back when the 1.9b was leaked. I would burn the iso but the Wii wouldn't recognize the disc. The problem was the file was too small. You can use filechip, it will bloat the iso into about 1.4 gigs, this fixed my issues and I was able to update just fine. Filechop is included with the new firmware package at wiikey.cn

i believe meteoroid 3 have the update 3.0 u, cuz when i first playing the game it ask me to update.

there is now a 3.1 update as of uhh yesterday so im wondering
what everyone thinks is it safe for my wiikey or my wii? or is it
a bad idea to update?

It is safe to update to 3.1 if you have a wiikey.
