actually the warantee is voided as soon as you add a non nintendo created or authorized program or chip. But if you do it right you can get around the voiding.

and isnt it obvious that your wii has been taken apart - thus voiding the warranty - even if the modchip has been taken out?
As shown in my previous post I have a cooling/charging base also I went to a closing circuit city and found a little fan that plugs into the usbs in the back and it has usbs on the fan so you dont lose the usb and it adds another fan to the wii. It costed me $2.50

It is similar to this but min has a speed control and made by nexxtech

    Unhappy

your GPU is on its last leg...with a week or 2 you will have black screen

the reason why..is cause of it is overheating ...WHEN on standby mode...not cause you are playing it too much

or another cause is poor ventilation

do all your game saves to sd and return to "N" for warranty..odds are you will not get the same one back

It's better to get it repaired now, and not when it comepletely stops working 2 months after your warranty expires. seems to me you have a defective unit, so a cooling fan is only delaying the inevitable. I got mine repaired through nintendo, judt deleted homebrew channel etc.

Yeah better get it fixed now. It's probably not going to get any better - only worse...

I noticed this problem right from the beginning, and having had issues with the red ring of death on a now deceased xbox360 i bought a fan about a year ago from dreamgear (with crappy battery charger). It's kinda cheap and very badly designed and when you turn it on you can barely feel the fan but it does an amazing job keeping the wii cool.
You can connect it to the usb port or to a power outlet. I prefer the outlet so that I cause the wii less stress.
I would recommend getting a fan for it or turning the AC on.
