I believe i also have this problem. but i am not sure.
My wii makes noise when i game is loading or playing. it used to be pretty silent.
I softmodded it, so it's not like i took it apart and put something back together wrong.
    Is this the same issue?

Never had a overheating problem before. I pull the plug out of my Wii everytime I finish playing with it.

sometimes my wii feels hot but i've never had problems with the GPU - no white dots are appearing.

however i am thinking about getting an external fan to help cool it down

and isnt it obvious that your wii has been taken apart - thus voiding the warranty - even if the modchip has been taken out?

    Is this still an issue?

Hello, everyone. Is this problem with the Wii overheating still an issue, or is it something that's been fixed in newer models of Wiis? I got my Wii only recently a few months ago like back in...October or November of 2008. Would my Wii still have this problem?

When I got the wii I never left it hooked up finally I hooked it up perminately and noticed it was always staying green and hot cause of 24/7 so I go a charger cooler that I paid like $20 for but was still luke warm so I just turned off the 24/7 so the fan comes on when I power on the wii and it dont get overly hot. I can play for 3 or 4 hours and it will feel like picking up a glass of warm water. I have the 3.3 U so not sure if the fan kicks in randomly. only time I leave the 24/7 on is whn I need to recharge my controllers and eventhen the fan stays on to keep it cool.

I've turned off wiiconnect for so long but can not access the otherr features with it off. When I do turn it on the wii sits in black screen idel for a long time before anything shows. Could be 30 minutes or more sometimes. Very frustrating. It's certainly not measuring up the usual nintendo quality.

sounds more like a wiiconnect prob than a over heating prob. it dont heat up that fast to over heat with wii connect on

no...warranty is not voided if modded or unmodded properly
