Activision CEO confirms "DJ Hero"

That's the word from gaming blog Kotaku (via Eurogamer), which definitively confirms what had long been rumored: "DJ Hero" is indeed coming "later this year," complete with a turntable for "competitively" spinning and mixing tunes.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick let the news slip during a recent appearance on CNBC, according to Kotaku. Details are still scarce: Kotick is quoted saying that the "DJ Hero" turntable will, indeed, let you "play competitively and spin discs and mix songs," but that's about it for now.

I can see Harmonix taking the same route. They have confirmed that there will be no Rock Band 3 in 2009, so they have to be up to something else.

Wow.

This game will be an epic fail once it's out.

I DJ myself sometime and have decks at home, and I'm sure this piece of plastic won't compare at all. And it'll also have some hardware/calibration problems forrr sureee.

But we'll see what Activision brings to the table.

i know the attraction of guitar hero but i'm not so sure about dj hero, will it be worth the money? only time will tell

OMG anything to make white preppies think they are rock stars. Im going to the bar next week set up rockband and see how much I get laid. DJ Hero will be just as lame as people insisting they can play instruments cause they played RB and GH. These people who take these games seriously rate right up there with air guitar people.

How about Wii 20 piece Orchestra Band at least then when band geeks get beat up with their instruments they will be plastic so it wont hurt as bad
