You do not have the facts correct ..it is perfectly legal to install and use these modchips in canada and usa. The modchip can be used to enable the user to play backups of their originals that are stored away safely.. ( so fido won't eat them),
homebrew, MFE audio/video, game saves, load homebrew from sd thru gecko adaptor, and a lot more as new features are developed for them.
of course it's up to the end user...in which way they wish to use it capabilities... if you wish to be legal you are required to "own" an original of the backup you download or rip. ....same as a movie, music, etc.:D

.....hmmmm.... why?....... no warranty seals are broken.... installed properly...and removed properly will leave no tell tale signs of modification.....are you going to say...." Mr. Nintendo repair... I 've had it modified before..so is it still covered under warranty?":D

I really don't understand what the statement means exactly.... It's expected that dvd updated will be normal for all wii units not just for the modified ones.
so it won't make any difference...if you are using a modchip that is basically runs in stealth mode:D
The Wiid seems to be a good chip...I also have them...however they are overpriced for what they do atm.....we will see what happens in the future.
There are chips that do the same and are proven to be rock solid and stable for quite a bit less $$$....time will tell as always...:D
