Hi I was wondering if the wii gets regionfree after modding it with wiikey 2?
I really looking forward to play TOS 2 wich is a NTSC and I have a PAL coded wii. can I do anything to make it work? Update the wiikey to 1.2? doas that help? I'm abit afraid to use the HBC. Heard about people getting bricked. are the chances big? for a brick from the HBC?

Yes, just block out of region updates first *update the chip to latest, then put in the disc again, to block*

You are 100% region free when using the WiiKey 2.


Just a heads up though, you have a greater chance of bricking your Wii by playing out-of-region games than you do by installing the HBC.

Okay, thanks for the heads up! The wierd thing was that I wasn't able to get tos working. I haven't updated wikey2 to 1.2 and I have 3.4E on my wii.
When I started the game. the screen just went black. I didn't even make it to the menu or anything. so I had to restart the wii. I tryed ,mario kart and wii music and trauma center NB. all those titles worked but not the tos 2... anyone might know why?

It's not fake signed if it's the mod chip you ref. to. Well. I guess I have to make it go 3.2 right? are there any problems that may occure when doing that?

Hi everybody.
As E39 wrote there is a big chance to "brick" your wii if you play different region games without homebrew channel. This depends from the automatic updates that the game you want to play will try to install in your Wii.
Of course if you install jap updates in european wii something will not work properly.

As they told you you can block the updates and play but this is not a solution because may be you want updates from your region.
The best is to go in the wiikey2 site and download one funny patch that will make start only your region updates.
After you install that patch remember the first game you play must be from YOUR region. After this moment your wii is brik safe.
