Ca Unauthorized device error, even after updating, modchip pictures included

    Hi all,

Since i got the latest update with the Mario Galaxy, and all games from that and on, will give me the black screen with "unaothorized deviced has been detected" error message.

I have since tried everything, from flashing with 1.9b, all the way to 1.9s, the flash operation goes well, but i have to take the dvd in and out when it says stopping drive, otherwise i will get failed to flash. So if i do take the dvd in and out, while flashing , the flash would continue all the way and i would hear hoomer and all, as well as the latest update 1.9s.

But the chip does not really flash, at least that's what i think, since mario galaxy and all new games to follow, still give the black screen with the "unauthorized device has been detected" message.

I have included a picture of my chip and the wiring, which i have double checked about 5 times already for none connectivity. All wires are fine, and all games perior to Mario galaxy work fine.

My console is still at Mario galaxy update since.

    Please help.

my wiikey did the same but worked perfect after 1.9s update, did you use the relevent update disk? pal or ntsc also might not be a genuine wiikey so that might be why it doesnt take 1.9 properly, im sure some one with alot more experience will know by looking at pic.
    good luck

Check your firmware again. Wii Dashboard >> Wii Button >> Settings >> in there

I'm almost sure you're at a 3.3 or 3.4. If so, please visit my signature and hit the 3.3/3.4 Firmware FYI link. It'll tell you everything you need to know + a solution.

it's version 3.1u and i have the homebrew channel installed

Most probably i do have a clone, even though it looks 100% like the original, but all wires are correct, and still it won't update, so it has to be an identical clone, me wii is setting at 3.1u, i have the homebrew channel and i have geoco on it, but not sure how to use it to boot the games that require the wiikey update ,,, please help

i dont use homebrew channel all i have is a pal wii fitted with wiikey 1, currently on 1.9s firmware, wii running 3.2, all i can sugest is buying a geniuine wiikey and replaceing the one you have fitted, should only take 5 mins and then update using update disc if needed.
    good luck

    A solution just been found.

I just found the solution talking to someone through another forum,,,
This is what you need to do if you have my case ,,,
You must have homebrew channel installed and have Gecko app installed on an sd card,,,

Put in the backup game disc. Start the Homebrew Channel then start Gecko OS and then launch the game via the Gecko OS menu.

This works like a charm,,, no need to update the modchip at all,,,,

    Thanks all,,,
