Now I am confused; a few posts ago you didn't put the wiikey2 in the top spot, and now you do? I have a D2E and am looking what I want...

Hi guys im new and going to mod my wii soon. So ive been looking at all the chips. IS there like any way to narrow down how i want to pick one? Anyone get what i mean?
Me too, I just got mine. S# starts with LU605, i didnt open it but before i do i want to know if it is possible to mod it.
best mod chip for 3.4u firmware
i recently dropped my psp and cracked the lcd screen. it was rather fun to take it apart and replace it. i've never modded a system before (other than soft mods on my psp) but it interests me to take apart my wii.
so my question is what is the best mod chip. i see the updated post by ModderMan saying the wiikey2 would be best. I have 3.4u firmware installed. * There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).
* And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C2 (v2) and the drive has the new metal clip.
Also I don’t mind a little soldering if that helps your suggestion. i am mainly interested in playing old console games and wii-ware games. so what is the best mod chip for me?

This topic is a little out of date :/, it has old info in comparison to the newer modchips out there as well as the updates.
Dated information w. dead links. Will create a new one soon.
