    Wii Fusion?

I have a new Black Wii that has never had a game in it or been hooked up to the net. I turned it on to see which firmware was in it and it's 4.3u Which I read the guide to hack any Wii. But before I start I got a few questions. I have a WiiKey Fusion that I haven't installed yet. I have a compatible external hard drive also. I plan on storing and playing games right from my HDD. Should I soft mod my Wii before I install the CHIP or after???

If you are planning on playing from HDD just do the softmod and sell the chip.. you only need the chip if you are planning on using a back up disc to play.. but IMO HDD is better/faster/less of a hassle.

Thanks Shift_Lock, I was reading on the WiiKey website that 1.5 update for the Fusion allows backup game discs to be played, is that including the 4.3u???

Only if you replace the drive. it's the drives chipset that determines that, not the system menu version. If you have a drive that cant play backups, you cant play backups.

PS- Black wii's cant play backups.

    Softmod ANY Wii

it depends on how old you wii is.. newer wii's dont have the ability to play back up disk due to the drive installed. but a launch wii that has been updated to 4.3 does. older wii's are capable of reading back up disks.. but you dont need a chip to do that..
