Thumbs up What is my Wii DVD Drive Chip ?

    Hi
I hope this is a correct section to post this question.

My wii serial number is LKM1043...... when i open my wii and found the big chip on drive is blank. The serial number on my wii start with "E". According to
Wii Drive Chip Database - How To Guide my wii should have a D2nothing/D3 chip right? and my wii can be modded using Wasabi DX? i just wanna to make sure the chip will work on my wii before i order the wasabi DX mod chip.

    Thanks in advance

If the Wii was bought around what.. September/October of 2009 or more recent than that, it'll have D3-2/D4 drive and there's no point in a traditional modchip (won't work).

Hi the wiidrive.com identification show nothing when I typed my serial number in.

I am not sure when my Wii was bought it as i bought it 2nd hand.

I don't understand what it says on the wiidrive.com my Wii drive has a blank big chip and the serial number starts with 'E'. in the web said it is the first revision what does it means by first revision?

Did you type the whole thing, including the letters?

The database search engine isn't functioning correctly on my end. Perhaps that is what is happening for you as well (white, mostly blank page).

Here's a Wii though with a similar serial range and a D2A chip: Wii Drive Chip Database
