    scared of "opening" my wii

    hello, i'm just new here. i want to open my usa made wii (purchased a year ago) but i hear horrible stories on bricking my wii. please let me know which mod chip i should get and they say there is this "software" that can be installed without using a mod chip to play copied wiis .is there such a thing.
    i play guitar world tour, mario kart, and my kids usually play with people online, will opening it stop them from playing with online people? thanks for your help

    Yes, but it works poorly and gives a lot of errors

    opening does nothing, and its idiot proof, nintendo cant stop u from playing online

    Yes you can run software to play a backup, but just like Adimaral said above, it's buggy. Some games work fine, some suck, some freeze, some combust into themselves. Down the road, it might work 99% with no issues, but for today, a modchip is the way to go.

    now a days it works 90%

    the thing is, once a thing like animal crossing or need for speed come out, it really messes up, patchs and updates are needed, all kinds of crap, and rarly gets a exact answer
