    black wii can you chip them

    does anybody know if any of the black wiis in australia, can be chipped my mate reckons the early blacks 1 can be done. Is it worth buying 1 from eb games, can i swap put the dvd drive for the older drives and chip it.

    for the d3-2(black wii) drive only WODE or Sundriver.........

    if you get an older drive yes you can use other mod chips

    My personal opinion is to do two different hacks to it. First off, get a WODE and install it. This will be used for all of your Gamecube/Wii backups. Then, run a softmod. This will be used for all of your WADs, Homebrew, etc.

    I have read that the new d4 unit IS compatible with the WODE. I just bought a new one and according to the wii drive chip index, my serial number has a 10% chance to be a d4. If it is a d4, will a WODE work for me?
