you likely won't have epoxy yet , but yes there are ways to get rid of it so a clip can be used. it takes a bit longer though.
I wanted to ask first......
If I have the d2e with epoxy (I know I have the d2e regardless), can I still use a solderless modchip if I take the time to remove the epoxy?
I can't solder for crap so I want to know if I can still use the wiiclip if the epoxy is removed.
Thanks in advance guys!
**Forgot to add, I don't know if I have epoxy or not because I don't have a triwing screwdriver to open it up yet.

I had one of these in today to install a chip in.
I just managed to just chip away the epoxy in the right areas, it's actually quite easy, you just need to go steady!
I then soldered in a D2pro using the 6 wire install.
Works a treat!
As for soldering skill, I would get an old circuit board from a dead PC or what ever, and practice. You know your not going to do any damage if you stuff up!
thanks for the reply! appreciated
the thing is, i already ordered and received the wiikey2 with the wiiclip presoldered on. this was, of course, before i had a triwing screw driver, so didnt realize there was epoxy on my chip.
is it realistic to get rid of all the epoxy on the chip? or enough so that i can securely place the wiiclip on it? is paint stripper, etc safe to use on integrated circuits or will it wreck them?
thanks
if your in the uk some guy used nitromors stripper, said it worked a treat
just search nitromors in box up top and it'll pop up
Why are you reading this? its always the same!!
Search the thread as there are several different methods for removing epoxy. Paint stripper (I prefer) and heat gun would be your options as the dremel won't work for what you need (to remove all of the epoxy).
Go to the hardware store and get any paint stripper. I don't have nitromors near me so I got a product called circa 1850 which worked great.
So? Did it have Epoxy or not?
we'll soon see. i'm gonna do it this weekend. didnt want to get started during the week, as i work full time and the wife is pregnant .so lots of runing around to do.
will post my positive results when im done.
