Help with retail game "We cheer"

    Hi,

I have been looking all over trying to figure this out and was wondering if someone could help me. I have a Wii that I purchased in China already modded, it is a J spec unit, and I am not sure what chip it has in it. Here is the problem, my wife really wants to play we cheer, I ended up buying the retail game, and it won't play, it recognizes the disc, shows the name, then when you click on yes to load it, it goes to a black screen and never comes out of it. I have played other retail games with no problem, so I am at a loss as to what could be causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ryan

Dude before anything is really answered we the people need to know what chip you have. It might just be that your chip needs some updating.

I am guessing that means I need to open up the case, there probably isn't any other way to find out is there.

    Thanks for the help.

Use Gecko OS to see if you can play through there first before opening your Wii. If it plays, chances are you have a D2pro 9 with outdated firmware on the latest 3.3 system version.

Then again, posting some info on your drive and system version would be greatly appreciated before you seek help.

Thanks for the help, sorry for being such a noob, but I do appreciate it.

Here is a little infor that I got tonight.

From a search on the serial number it says it is 50% GC2-D2C V1, or 50% GC2-D2B with no cut pins or missing pads.

I did open it up, the chip actaully says GC2-G1A, so I am not sure where that leads me.

on the chip there are markings:

    v1 (ASIC) V1.00
    2008-JAN-28

I counted 27 fine wires that go between the chips, there is a ground that is soldered to the main board, and the a VCC wire soldered to the board.

Now I am looking to install the homebrew channel, and I am assuming I need to use the japanese version, since mine is japanese model. Then I am hoping that i can use any region to change the language of the system so I can atually tell what is going on and do anything with it.

Thanks for you help and time I appreciate it a lot.

Thanks, I probably will upgrade, but my wife is dying to play the game, so if I can get it to work now it will be worth it. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
