    Wii Modchip Help :[

Hello, whats up everyone? I'm new to the forum posting, and i apologize if this isn't the right spot on this forum for this thread. I currently have a Wii Modchip, don't know exactly which one(most likely the D2C Key) and i haven't played any games for the Wii since 2 years ago(yeah, there haven't been much good games XD).

Anyways, when i recently downloaded a new game (Tatsunoko VS Capcom), it didn't work and I'm sure the rest of the new games won't work either. The last game i actually tried (which worked) was Dragonball Revenge of King Piccolo(which was released sometime before the end of the year). Anyways, I really need help as soon as possible, is there anything i should update? Because I've never updated anything on the Wii before, and I've heard that Modchips don't work anymore, the only work with something called homebrew? I really appreciate the help and thanks in advance.

Chances are your ios are outdated and require updating hence why the game won't load and I'm oging to assume that since you havn't played your Wii in such a long time your still on a 3.X firmware.

I don't know much about firmware, some of the newer games did work like Dragonball Revenge of King Piccolo. And also, do i have to have Wii hombrew to load games? Because i don't know what that is. I only have a modchip.

What Favs was saying is newer games require an IOS to run. If you've not got the IOS, it won't run. Look here. Also while you're at it, look here for mod chip IDing (requires you to open up your Wii, or a good memory of the modchip's appearance).

Thanks alot, I really appreciate it for your help.
So it depends on the Wii system menu? I have the newest one. So i don't need any software like homebrew channel to let the modchip work. I'll try another new game soon, and reply soon.

Games are IOS-dependent, not System Menu. No game requires a specific System Menu, but all games require the presence of a specific IOS (this is determined by the publisher or Nintendo). If you look on the IOS thread I linked, re-read post 1 and 2.

I have quite a few backup games that i would still like to play. The wii is a 4.1U firmware. I shoud also add that i bought the wii and modchip 2 years ago and never updated the chip

Having a modchip installed is fine and shouldn't give you any problems.

Yes they were the same region. And they still don't work, sadly.
