i want to mod my wii to its limits!

i am buying a wii off ebay so i don't know entirely if it will be a new or old wii.

i wanted to get a mod chip can someone recommend the best mod chip for both the old and the new wii which has the most features that are really handy.

i also wanted to know what the go was with playing games over the net (for example smash brothers brawl). Do you need a cd key to play over the net (like counterstrike on a computer). or do you get some sort of online game account with the wii console (like a psp).

also i wanting to modify the nunchuck controllers and wii controllers to have LED's in them which i have seen. i know how to do the simple steady light but i was wanting how to know how to do a pulsing one or one that changes colour.

also i this possible with the wireless nunchuck control?

i was also thinking of changing the LED's in the front CD inserter to blue at the top and green at the bottom or something different like that.

i also wanted those LED's to stay on continuously. does anyone else know how to do this? i have seen some tutorials but the video quality wasn't all that and a bag of chips.

ontop of all that i was going to change the shell of the wii (which is white) into a black one.

i also had an idea that you can change the fan in the back of the wii? is it possible? because i wanted to put a neon fan in it.

anyway that what i want to do if any of you have any great tips or tutorials that can help me i would much appreciate it if you sent them to me

    thank you

Well first, welcome to wiihacks where you will find all the necessary info concerning wiihacks, customisations, and homebrew. Now to answer your first question, I will highly recommend the wasabi v3 modchip or the wiizard modchip, two of the most stable modchips ever produced, it is for all the drives currently available.
Secondly.....yes you can go online with your modified wii but be careful not to play the copied games online cause nintendo can probe your wii as modified or tampered and unfortunately ban your system. And no you don't need no key to play online.
Thirdly....customizations of the wii are endless...yes you can change the lights in the wii, add lights to both the nunchuck and wiimote, add strobes by the vents, change the fan in the back to lighted fan change the case and sooooooo much other nifty ideas (shocking you can't change the wii dashboard too) You can ask spyman or GMODZ concerning the customisations of the wii. or you can send a private message to phrozenballs concerning how to customise the controller and system cause he customised his whole xbox 360 and coming soon his wii.
Thanks everyone for the great support.
Hope to hear from you soon, cause i'm getting ready to retire from the modding scene.
    Gonna start a new profession.

as for chips find out what serial number you have and depending on that you can get the right chip..if you go with wasabi then you will be good as it works on all versoins of the wii without issues and you can use the 100% solderless solution available from many resellers...as for wii modding with lights and all that you might want to just purchase an XCM case that comes with leds as its very easy to do urself because it comes as a kit with plug and play wires

I recommend our newest d2pro9 v3, it works on everything without any issues at all on d2c/d2c2 and d2e, vs the older d2pro9 v3 still had some bugs. The new firmware cleared it all up.

As for customizing you might also want to change the remote LEDs , wii led etc. If youre leaving it blue though and getting an xcm case you might also want to get a stand that has a blue base light (I think I have a few of them). It looks pretty sweet with a clear xcm case. You dont need to get xcm , a generic aftermarket case I find works just as well. I used a xcm case on my system and it didnt quite fit right, though it was an early mold, so they probably got better.

yup prefer to have a chip that doesnt need so many updates to work on par with others...i dont see why d2lite isnt getting that much attention since its by the same team and works way better than the d2pro9
