    D2Pro v2 or Wassabi?

I'm so confused, which mod chip should I get?
D2Pro v2 or Wassabi? Which is better? I'm getting mixed review.

    oh I have a D2C chipset.

You also have the choice of D2Sun, D2E-A9 and Wiizard. They all basically do the same thing which is to allow you to play backup games. The only difference is that some allow you to update both the Actel H/W chip using Jtag programmer and SPI Flash using DVD (D2Pro9v2/v3 & D2SunV3), others allow only DVD update of SPI (like the Wasabi) and some won't have the update feature at all. So its a matter of what your budget is and reading the forums to determine what will suit your need

the d2pro9 v2 is now replaced with d2pro9 v3 2.3/1.6. This one works on everything flawless wasabi has also been working on everything for us so far.

Either choice you will be ok. But if you go with the d2pro9 make sure it is the v3 with 2.3/1.6 firmware

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick reply. I know about the other mod chips, I'm just down to deciding between these 2 chips. I read somewhere that D2Pro v3 have issues. I've also been reading that some people have eject projects with D2Pro on a D2C. Money isn't really an issue, I just want the better mod chip with no issues. Also, I want to be able to upgrade the firmware via DVD.

    thanks again..

either one you go with you'll be good. if you go with d2pro9 then make sure it is the v3 and has 2.3/1.6 firmware , the 2.3/1.5 is the one you hear the issues about, but it was corrected.
For updating, both have updates via dvd. The dvd can only go as far as updating the SPI flash. if you want something that can flash the entire chip the d2pro9 has the d2prog programmer (sold seperately), which will let you do that in future should you need it. This is a future precaution though. As of current state the latest d2pro9 and the latest wasabi v3 are both good choices.

I have a problem with the wasabi with 2 wii systems. It didn't let us insert the disc. I think it depends on how lucky you're. If your Wii comes out at the time that the chip/clip set works fine on yours, you're lucky. The serial number doesn't help at all.

Like I said.....I don't use the clip so probably the clip is giving the wasabi a hard time to co-operate with the drive, that is why it is giving you the problem not accepting the disc.
