Ok, sounds great. Which chip would you recommend for my GC2-D2C NTSC-U Wii?

well my personal favorite chip for the d2c chipset wii will definitely be the argon (cause that is what I have in my 2nd wii works as if it is not modified in other words it loads a game as if it is a stock system) or the same wasabi v3 chip, that is what i'm using right now in a customer wii right now on my desk.
Thanks everyone for the great support.
Hope to hear from you soon, cause i'm getting ready to retire from the modding scene.

Clover.4 as seen on the pictures you posted..
U dont have a D2C drive.. You have a D2B drive pins not cut.
So.. You can use the WiiKey, D2pro9, Wasabi, D2Sun..
    but yeah.. u have a D2B drive not a D2C...

I was explaining to clover.4 about how my D2c wii have the argon install in the drive and it works like if the wii isn't modified at all (in other words bone stock) so I just recommended the chip to him but I also recommend the wasabi v3 chip too cause it works very similar to the argon (performance wise)
Thanks everyone for the great support.

I've done some research.. and the Wasabi appears the obvious solution to me. Apart from the WiiKey, it's the only other chip upgradable via DVD and I didn't quite get this part but it has built in flash memory for upgrades (although how do other chips upgrade if they don't have it??) and data storage...I don't quite know what other data it needs to store? Although I read something somewhere about ssbb using it and the memory is also supposed to make it future block proof..??

Why do you guys recommend the wasabi 2 or wasabi v3? Isn't it exactly the same as the original wasabi, except that wasabi 2 works with the D2C2 and the v3 with the new D2E Wii's..? This is just out of interest because the wasabi 2 chip seems to be seller cheaper than the original wasabi.

I was originally thinking of getting the D2pro9 because it's cheaper and also updatable..although after some research I found out it requires a d2programmer, which takes away the cheaper benefit and the mission involved in updating it doesn't help it either...right?

well as you can see clover.4 buddy why we recommend the wasabi v3 because the number of wiis having some issues e.g DRE's, laser inching (someone please explain that laser inching for me please cause I haven't seen that problem as yet) rejecting modifications, and the list goes on and on D2pro cannot keep up with the corrections of their updates and wasabi have a little more stability and a better performing chip and software that is in the chip is second to none. We will always recommend the wasabi v3 (cause of the DVD updating) but if you like how the D2pro performs, it is up to you. And to boot the wasabi is for all the current drives just like the D2pro
Thanks everyone for the great support.
