Rugby League 3 - New Protection.

Apparently the Rugby League game for the Wii, deson't work on modded Wii's if you buy it or burn it.
Some of the older Wii's with chips like the Wasabi doesn't work with this game.

reading the offical forums it works on softmodded but can detect modchips somehow and won't play.

Lucky my wii is softmodded then,because this game is at the top of my next game to get list.

It's softmodded Wii's that are having issues.

If you have a patched ios53, the game will be locked down.

I'll have to disagree with you from the offical forums for rugby league 3 it's the mod chips it detects and won't play even from the orginal disc. There are people who have it running in softmod who also have modchips that it won't work on but softmod is fine.

i went through and reinstalled ios 38,53 and 55 to make sure there was no trucha,
all good now!

Yeah it was only on page 4 when I was researching it yesterday. Poor other guy even updated to 4.2 without getting it working still. Kinda feel sorry for him.

This issue will continue to evolve, but at the moment, it appears that softmodded Wiis can play the original game disc, install a copy to an external USB HDD, and play a backup disc copy while a chipped Wii might have to turn off or put the chip in stealth mode if possible. Both hard and soft modded Wiis appear to need to install a clean IOS53.

The WODE will play both an original and a backup disc of this game.

Got ours up & running (softmodded wii) using IOS53-64-v5149.wad & running the Wiiflow USB Loader - working perfectly. Tested for hours with no probs!

Thank's ktcoop! I'm 99% sure I already have that version of ios53.
Gonna get the game and rip it to usb loader gx.
