Cool Mod chip downsides and internet compatibility

Ok i am really close to buying this chip... i just need some last minute advice...

    D2CPro Chip

    1. What are the positives to that chip other than what is mentioned on the site?
    2. What are the down sides?
    3. Upgradable?
    4. Reliable? (had any experience with the solderless version? i dont care about the soldered ones )
    5. Can i go play online on my games without the wii getting bricked? Can it be revived by the SMG unbricker and then an update on the chip? or by unplugging the chip until it can be fixed?
    6. Any other info you can tell me? The more the better...

cheers... i cant buy until wii is out of warranty it had LEH1454 serial and is D2C without Cut legs (obviously lol) so i know that chip is compatible

    1. Well it's a modchip, everything's positive.
    2. None really.
    3. Through a programmer.
    4. Yes.
    5. Yes, you can play online over Wi-Fi. It won't get bricked or semi-bricked. If your Wii gets semi-bricked, it's fixable by using using the Duplicate Channel Remover homebrew application and then using WiiMu (another homebrew app)
    6. Go for the gold.

Could you give me a link to a tutorial on getting and using these applications (when the wii is semi bricked how would it read homebrew and copies?) and can you link me to the programmer? there are so many different ones which one do i need? Injectus? or infectus2?

BTW you do realised it is the D2CPRO not D2Pro dont you? I can find a programmer for it... Look on the link please the image doesnt show anywhere a programmer could plug in...

Ooh i think this isnt my perfect chip... Just read a site saying wires have to be soldered (even on solderless install) for region free on PAL?

Okay on this case.. yes.. u have to short JP2 for Pal systems..
So yes.. u have to do it even on solderless install.. or if you can
tell the shop u r buying it from that u want them to do it..
    that would help too..

Any reason why you are going with a clone "D2CPro" chip versus a real chip? It won't be upgradable. If you are looking for inexpensive, then at least go for a upgradable D2Sun.

Im going for the d2cpro because its £20 cheaper...

Also the D2Sun needs one wire soldering (for d2c) which im not prepared to do so it looks like the d2ckey is the modchip for me as its the D2CPro "original version" with upgradability...?
    Im confused :s lol

Thats quite a price difference! Maybe you should source a different site to get better pricing on chips. Remember you get what you pay for.
