Cool Does my ideal modchip exist?

Hi im new here and hope for a pleasant experience with all your members. I signed up on another wii modchip site and everyone takes a day to reply

I have been looking for modchips for the wii for the pas week or so now (and also looked at the beginning of the year) and heard about the new D2E chipset coming to the Uk...

I have been looking for a chip that suits my needs which are:
100% Solderless once onto the wii-clip (nothing to be soldered to the wii / no clk to be cut / i will solder jumpers on the chip just nothing to my wii)
Upgradable - Either by DVD, or a Programmer (where can i get this programmer?)
Dvd+/-R(W) Compatible (or as many as possible)
NTSC Game Support (Backup & Original) On PAL System

Ive found universal chips (dms -> d2E) but they say it MAY need an F-Wire soldering... im not risking my wii... Any ideas on mod chips?

    cheers

I found http://xbox-entertainment.co.uk/cata...roducts_id=338 . that is the perfect mod chip... the downside being... no wii-clip for solderless install... that i can find...
The d2sun needs one wire soldering (even on solderless install) so that wouldhave been perfect other wise... (once i had the programmer). The only other chip i found couldnt be programmed (cant remember the name) but i wouldnt want to risk it...

that is NOT the perfect modchip, it's the complete opposite!

You'll probably want to go with the d2pro9 v3, but there is still a chance of having to solder 1 wire, but most work completely solderless.

It works on all drives, usually solderless with a wii-clip (unless CLK does not work then you need to solder point J), works with all media types (but it's usually the wii that is picky about this), and can be updated by DVD AND a programmer!

Id rather have to have a lack of upgrade than to risk soldering to be honest thats why i didnt want to go with the d2pro because its that wire that has to be soldered on all d2c consoles supposedly ... or so ive heard...

Also it isnt dvd-r compatible which will be a big issue for me as me and my parents take it in turns to buy different types of dvd to share

the rest of the chips either REQUIRE soldering or work with only 1 drive version.
Who says it's not -R compatible? The chip works with all media, your drive may not!

The d2pro9 will be the best choice

nice chip but if i were looking for a modchip then i would probably try my best in order to find the one specialized for my chipset like the d2ckey with 31 wires which is specialized for the d2c chipsets but i know that i am too lazy to solder the 31 wires and since there is no other shorter install i am using the wiiclip. So go find ur chipset instead of using buggy d2pro9's and wasabi's all the time because after i looked back at wiihacks after my vacation, i saw that 75 percent of all the posts were complaining about their d2pro9's not working or why is my wasabi 2 flipping out on me! And about that chip in the link, i have not heard of one person that has used that chip and if u have any problems with it, u probably won't find any help for that chip in these forums.

But if thats the case wouldnt the d2sun v2.02 or maybe even v3 be the better chip for me only having to solder one wire? Or getting one that is solderless but isnt universal?

Thanks for all the help and reviews better than the last forum lol

You may want to look into the new D2E-A9 modchip or the Wizard modchip. I don't anything about them just heard them being mentions as good chips.

    cheers
