Need some help selecting a chip and have some questions...
I downloaded uturrent to get wii games and movies, and was looking to get a modchip. I just wanted to know what would be the cheapest yet efficient chip. Also do you void the warranty of the wii when you take it apart and put the chip in.

Currently the most popular chips with good support are D2Pro9v2/v3 and the Wasabi2/3. WiiKey is also popular for Wii with drive chips before the D2C. If you choose to go with a solderless solution, that is, a chip presoldered to wii-clip and you are careful opening and putting back together your wii then it should be fine for warranty.

You void your warranty as soon as you open the console, but if you use a wii-clip or clean up your wii then nintendo won't know it was opened.
To help choose a chip, tell us when you bought your wii

You Wii is going to be D2C and D2Pro9v2/v3 or the Wasabi2/3 presoldered to WiiClip will work.

I dont mean to highjack the thread but I have the same question as the OP...
I bought mine yesterday...lol I know, I'm late... My friend bought his November of last year. We're basically wondering the same thing; whats the best solution for us regarding modding our Wiis. We'd really prefer a solderless solution since niether of us can solder...
Any and all info is appreciated, thanks in advance....

You likely have the D2E Wii, but the choice is same for you and your friend - D2Pro9v2/(v3 for D2E) or the Wasabi2/3 presoldered to WiiClip will work.
