Paper Cover Noise?

Just got D2Pro9 rev 2 + WiiClip V4C-2 presoldered installed and working for few days. I have successfully backed up three games. All of a sudden when playing games it makes loud humming vibrating noise and sometimes drives clicks loudly. It sounds like it may be that darn paper cardboard piece that fits over the clip when done.

I wondered about this piece and if it could just be left off. I really don't want to have to dismantle my wii and remove it. But it may have to come off because the noise is just too loud now. Has anybody experience this noise and what are the ramifications of removing the cardboard piece?

Thanks guys.

Hey, I've read that alot of people will use electrical tape instead to cover the clip. What it's purpose is to prevent the clip from touching any kind of metal and shortening out.

If you think that's what's causing the noize you should go ahead and replace it with electrical tape!

Good luck!

i doubt its the paper cover. ensure that the drive is screwed down properly on the rubber pads. Sometimes there is dust or debris stuck on the white plastic or its not sitting properly
