Which Chip is in my wii

I bought a pre chipped Wii, but i have no way to contact the guy i bought it from.

    I have 2 questions

Apart from taking the Wii apart, how do i find out what chip I have installed.

other is off topic, but tbhought as I was posting would ask in here.

when i bought the Wii i got 15 back ups on disc, but i want to put them on my formated usb hard drive, beause the pc can not read the wii disc, how can i copy the back ups to usb hard drive.

    cheers sag

Download IMGburn. The drive in your computer won't recognize the disc, but IMGburn will allow you to create an IMG of the disks.
Unless you have a drivekey, there isn't really a way to know what chip you have unless you open up your Wii.
If its a drivekey you can tell by pressing eject on the Wii 3 times quickly. If it's a drivekey a gamecube game symbol should pop up in the disc loader channel.

You may want to find out just in case you have a chip that is updatable. And so that you can go to the proper section of the modchip forums to find answers to some problems that may or may not come up.
