ssbb worked for a while but would randomly get disc read error. After a series of resetting and beating the game over and over again, it wont load at all anymore and give me the read error.
d2pro9 1.4 firmware
ssbb dvd9 version burnt on verbatim Singapore made discs
layerbreak set (forgot what i set it to, i just copy and pasted from one of modderman's post)
Nintendo says they can fix this by "cleaning" it but my wii is brand new, it was still in box before I modded it. I highly doubt it was dirty.

May i ask what version is the dvd9 and what version is dvd5? i used the [WII]Super Smash Bros Brawl [NTSC-PAL][ESPALWII.com] and it doesn't seem to boot for me.
I have burnt the game with and without layer break (DL version). Updated my d2cpro to v1.4 via dvd (i have an NTSC-US wii, just bought it 1 week ago) but somehow it still only showing me the black screen. I couldn't even get it to load on the menu screen. Any help will be appreciated

i have a d2pro9 and went through this aswell, what i did to get it to work is using a memorex +DL DVD aburned at 1x with layerbreak. No lag at all with video no disk read erros, when i burned without layerbreak it got stuck at white screen. Burned with layerbreak at 2.4x works but got a disk read error right at the into screen just had to eject the disk and put it back in to get it working, burned at 1x and im Brawl'ing
Why are you guys experimenting with your own methods? Modderman answered a few threads regarding what media to use and what layer break to use. If you've done all that he said and still get disk read errors, do a search on google and find a guide on how to adjust the laser.
Nintendo claims the problem is the lens being dirty, but the real problem is the lens being undervolted or whatever. Correct the problem and you're good to go.
