Help required re. Argon installation with Wii-Clip

Hi guys,

I’m looking for some help on identifying why my modchip isn’t working. I installed an Argon chip with wii-clip into my console yesterday. I purchased the console about 3 weeks ago, and the serial number begins LEH185 so I am aware it may be one of the D2C2 boards.
After installation of the clip and chip, the console will still play original games as per usual. I’ve tried two backups (pro evo 2008 & wii balloon, both PAL, written to Maxell DVD-R discs) but have had no success. The blue light comes on, flickers whilst the disc loads, and then turns solid blue.
I’ve attached a couple of shots of my installation below. The D2C chip only has one line of writing saying “GC2-D2C”. The text “APCB D3 94V-0” which is present on some D2C2 boards is NOT on my board.
I guess there are two possibilities here, either I have the new D2C2 board or my installation is faulty. I really need to identify which of the two it is. If I have the new D2C2 board, does anybody know when Infectus will be releasing an update which will solve the problem? I didn’t purchase the Injectus Programmer so I guess I will have to do so to administer any kind of update, unless of course there is a DVD update option.

believe you still have a D2C chip

.....from your discription... you should change your brand of dvd to Taiyo Yudens or verbatim DVD-R's

Use imgburn ..burn at 4X

set write type From DAO to incremental

if its ur backups
are the backups tested as working

what i mean by that is that do they actually work with another chiped wii
your burner might not be good
(if the burner is bad you will get disc read error when you try to play backup)

along with what modderman said about the brand of dvds

First of all, thanks for the comments guy, it is much appreciated.

The backups are not confirmed to be working. I don't know anybody else with a chipped wii so I can't test them unfortunately.
I've not had any issues with my burner before, I regularly burn DVD's and PS2 games without any problems.
I've got another DVD burner in a different computer so I guess I'll get some Verbatim's and try burning a disc from that PC using Imgburn and with those settings. Will post back as soon as I've got somem results!

Ok so I got some Verbatim's, burned them using imgburn and the settings outlined by Modderman but still no success.

Modderman, how do you know I've got a D2C and not a D2C2?

usually on a d2C2 wii...it won't play originals or spin up properly.....

but yours does.....

so far to id the d2c2..... it both the printing on the board and the single line
on the chip.

I have modded a few of the single gc2-d2c chips without the writing on the board..but the serials were LU not like your LEH185

but from reading....seems like the LEH185 have been moddable...

so nothing is for sure... unless we compare apples with apples

so.....if it is a moddable....and you burnt your games on good media and properly.... then it must be the clip.... and it does happen alot that the clip is not making all the contacts it should.
