All Wii's are softmoddable to one point or another. I believe all will take mod chips as well.

Hello heelhead, Yes you can put in a wasabi dx , wode, drivekey, and many more, lots of info on this forum. One note thoe at the mo alot of chips will not let you play the new mario game. You can softmod your wii, there is a very good guide from doggeggs on this forum ,which i used and was great to follow. I would'nt update to 4.2 at the moment also as chip's like the wasabi dx has problems playing games from other regions when you update to 4.2

Check out the guides and tutorials section of the forum. All of them work great. Also keep in mind that if your wii is that new it might have a new chip that prevents you from loading burnt discs. If that IS the case there's always usb loading

Only use guides from this site. They are the most up to date and work if you follow them to a T. People brick their wiis because they do the guides out of order and don't understand what they're doing before they do it. If you got it on black friday there's a good chance you have the new chip and can only load from usb
