D2Pro (discontinued) vs D2Pro9

I was getting ready to purchase the D2Pro last night and started learning that it was actually discontinued. So i went for the D2Pro9 which replaced it. However I didn't see anywhere that sold it with the solderless clip.

The solderless D2Pro is still available for purchase with clip already on it. Is it worth it or should I wait it out for D2Pro9? I'm more worried about updates no longer being made for the D2Pro and they only do the 9.

Also, They sell a D2pro-to-D2Pro9 conversion chip you solder onto you D2Pro to make it a D2Pro9. Why? What's the advantage?

I really hate to purchase the D2Pro9 right now and be forced to buy the programmer since they just released a firmware update the other day fixing several bugs.

oooorr screw them both and go with Wasabi? haha.

Thanks.

If you're going with solderless clips it doesn't matter how many wires it gonna have o.o. D2Pro and D2Pro9 ARE THE SAME CHIP! That why there's a adapter to make d2pro becom 9wire just like d2pro they are the same afterall. That adapter also available for D2CKey and make it 9wire to solder as well but after you're going to buy presoldered chip with wiiclip there for it doesn't matter how many wires you're going to buy. Go for what ever fit your pocket or need. D2Ckey will also be update-able via jtag by soldering an attachment on teh back of it but because D2Ckey has been working solid there has been no UPDATEs for it unlike the d2pro but d2pro has been working solid too. I don't know much about wasabi but people been saying it has some glitches since it uses argon firmware. D2Pro for you would be a good choice right now it can be update with a jtag wihtout soldering an attachment to it or u can flash it via DVD by soldering a SPI or someting like that to the back of it. I would recommend you to use either D2Ckey or D2Pro (either version). Just make sure to install it in 1st try and remember to tell the place you're buying from your wii's region so they can set the jumper for you. The wii wont' read anyting if the jumper on the chip isn't set. I would highly recommend mod-chip.bz, outstanding tech support (will reply your email aqlmost instantly) for current and future customers, low prices, but i think they're out of solderless d2pro but you can email and ask. But they have really nice price on D2Ckey solderless 64$ while everywhre else are like 74$. But I woudn't buy the screwdriver thre cuz it a bit too much 6$ i bought one cuz I didn't want to have 2 separate shipping, it was a fancy screwdriver though one that you can hold the grip and twist it, also magnitized but there are places sell cheap one for 1$ or more that also does the work. And they're from thailand so if you use standard airmail it will take 7-14 days to get to you, 3 days for fedex express.

Yeah, i wrote that above you in another post and you posted it as well

I actually just ordered my D2pro solderless and programmer through foundmy.com. So yeah unless I wait a month or two, i had to order the programmer anyways to get the firmware that allows DVD updates. Funny how that works huh? Thanks for you help.
