Question Help required for D2Pro with WiiClip

Hi All, forgive me if this question has been covered, I've looked as far as I can and didnt see a definative answer, so....

Ive just put a D2Pro Chip into my Son's console, using a v4 Wii Clip.
Im not sure what LED's should be lit, but at the moment, the console fires up and we get all the normal menu on screen, when I put a disc in, bugger all happens, it just spins( On screen) then stops then spins again, this is with the original disc and a backup copy disc. Not being too technicaly minded Im now lost in a world of Chips and clips and dont know the way forward.
I have put the backing paper on the botom of the chip and also the card which came with the WiiClip over the lot to help stop shorts.

Your esteemed help would be much apreciated.

make sure the clip bit is pushed down firm and square and test it while still open, i think the fit can be a little hit and miss

Update..
Ok, I now have the original disc working (yeah Wii sports)
With a backup up copy its
Now its a black screen with an error message about the disc.
Reading a little here, do I now have to jumper across this diode by the Neg power??

shorting that is only if the disc is having initialization issuses with both originals and backups,,

also that is a temp solution...u would need to update the chip fw via a flat cable which should have come with your chip and a D2prog.

the point u r at now..seems to be more of a backup burning problem since u can play originals.....which is talked about all over the forum here

good luck

You were spot on Modderman, I tried a cheaper x8 dvd with Wii Sports and it worked great. I have hit on another prob now which im hoping your knowledge will overcome..
Ive just downloaded and burnt to the same x8 discs an NTSC game which although I have connected the 'Region free' wires on the d2Pro( 4 in all) it refuses to play, just spins aimlessly...any idea's???

just spinning is almost always a burn problem..

on cheap dvds if you have any issues

then if you burnt 1 game and it works.... that doesn't mean that the next one will also work.... all depends on your quality of dye

If you are encountering any issues
then you should be burning at the lowest support speed of you dvd.

that info is on the disc info window with imgburn.

single layer...usually....depending on your dvd burner and software settings too

1st is Taiyo Yudens DVD-R

2nd is Verbatim DVD-R

imgburn..for the burning program.

when burning and extracting.... don't be running any other progs....(this part excludes POWER SYSTEMS)

edit: depending on your burner...many also like the dvd+r .....

An update for you Modderman..

I've purchased some 'Vertabim' -R and some +R.. I have tried with both..
I can burn and play discs that I have ' Backed up' myself from friends etc...I cannot get any that I have D/L from 'Usenext' to play at all...Yet reading the Feedback on that site, it looks like most people can play what they D/L...strange to say the least.

Though I would be bummed you can't just download and burn games, at least you know you can rent, rip, burn them.

When you figure this thing out please let us know. I know there are multiple people on here that will be very interested because they are planning on going the D2pro/WiiClip route, myself included.

EDIT: I take this back. Apparently you can only rip Wii games with certain DVD drives.
