What board version do I have?

Before you start to mod your Wii you need to find out the version of your board.

• GC2R-D2A
This is the first generation of boards. Only D2B-Modchips work, therefore hereafter as "D2B" declared.

• GC2-D2B
The second generation of boards also only works with a D2B-Modchip. Later on a new version with cut pins was available. This makes the installation of a chip more difficult.

• GC2-D2C
The latest generation of boards. Here it is interesting, because who owns such a board must be in a D2C-Modchip access to backup copies on its Wii play. The D2C-Modchips are in this FAQ in the corresponding separate category.

• GC2-D2C (2)
There is a new generation of GC2-D2C out there which already got modded too!

did not try any modd yet,waiting for the new wasabi or d2pro9

hmm i dunno i was looking at this but my serial number is LUF i just got it like a month ago i have no idea if its a d2c2 or d2c

Okay, sounds like you need the D2pro9 rev2.

And you.. have the D2C v1.. I could mod your drive with the D2Ckey (31 wires)

and thats not a bad idea if i didnt have to send my wii over the pond itll kill me on P&P

Im confused as hell to what verision I got. I orderd the D2Pro v2 hope it works.

I just got my wii 7/7/08 Serial # LU576533XXX
It dosen't meet all the dc2c signs that ive been reading about.

One chip has GC2-D1A with 812p743F below
One chip has GC2-DC2 with 813p1004 below
and I dont see the APC3 on my board.
I had a big giant shield cover over the entire DVD drive when I opend it.
