It was supplied to me with 3.1E and most backups work. Kids have just bought Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock which worked fine with 3.1E.
I downloaded Greatest Hits PAL, which is a newer disk, and it prompts for an update when run. I was nervous so used Wiiupdatemanager (WUM) to check the ISO and it has an update to 3.4E on it. I read up on this in the forum (I'm a noob) and decided to use WUM to change the update to 3.2E_B on the Greatest Hits ISO. Burnt that and crossed fingers then updated Wii to 3.2E_B.
Unfortunately, Greatest Hits still does not work (although I have not done any harm - the original Legends still works). I get a black screen after pressing play.
Advise would be great - do I do the 3.4E update that is on the Greatest Hits disk - or is there a safer way? Not nowing the chip type is a worry - I wonder if it needs its own firmware updating? Any other options? I guess I need to take the Wii apart and have a look to be sure - is there a way of finding out without surgery? Thanks in advance, Andy

you missing some ISO's. Read the other GH threads and follow the instructions (even tho they may be for GH 5, the IOS's required are more than likely the same ones, and you will do no harm by installing IOS's that arent required for the game your trying to play)
