So i really don't know what kind of mod chip i have i did download the wiikey v1.9 update but when i popped the disk in all it gave me was "the disk is unreadable" message also i did it when my firmware was below 3.0 which it is at 3.1 now and i don't feel like opening up my wii to find out what chip is in it(unless i really have to) So my question is does it really matter if i update my mod chip? Will i still be able to play newer games like madworld and such if i dont update the chip? Iv'e also tried using google but i havent found anything...

Dude its called trial and error.

Will I be able to play newer games? Try one then you will know.
If your game doesn't work then you will have to open up your wii. It takes 5 minutes to open up your wii (much quicker than you probably took researching forums)

I feel sorry for your co-workers. You must be the dumbest bag of shit to work with. The disks aren't ruined as you can just use them when you get your wii modded. If it isn't modded then it makes sense to actually get it done.

Forums are a great way to get help for people with issues they can't answer. Being a lazy bag of shit doesn't make it ok to post shit that people have to read and waste their own time. We help people out on our own time and a lot of what we know is done from learning on our own.

It takes 5 minutes to open your wii! You probably complain when you have to wipe your own ass after a shit because the toilet paper is too far.
