Latest Wii D3-2 Drive - Hardmodding options?
Latest Wii D3-2 Drive - Hardmodding options?
Last wk I bought a new wii & it apparently has the new D3-2 drive (LAH1172...).
I'd like to be able to play backed up games on my new Wii & also like the sound of loading all games on a HDD. By sounds of it not all chips allow this, only chips with 'usb loaders' (correct me if I'm wrong). But I also hear talk of hardmodded (chip) & softmodded (software) wii's, I dont understand why the need for softmodding if it's hardmodded?
Anyhow, from what I've read so far, my options (for hardmodding) are as follows:
The latest D2Sun SunDisk Series 2009 apparently works with D3-2 drives & is 100% solderless (assuming this wont void 12mth warranty).
and these ones soon to come out but dont know how much they'll cost nor all the details:
* D2Sun SunDrive (supports up to 2000Gb USB HDD)
08-12-2009 And we have confirmed the SunDisk can support the last genaration D3-2(nothing) & 3.5K firmware wii console! SunDisk is the perfect solution for the next generation Wii !
* wii fusion/wiikey 3 (supports SD cards
)
[2009.09.09] The Wiikey Team is pleased to announce Wiikey Fusion, a revolutionary new modchip with SD card capabilities. The release date is planned for sometime during October. Further details will be announced as they become available. In the meantime, please check out the video!
What can you recommend please?
P.S. I hope I posted in the right place.
