After reading through the tuts and searching the forums, there seems to be a huge mix of old information with new info on what should be done after chip installation. I have seem some threads similar to this, but alot seems to change in a little period of time! There also is the problem that the Hardmod info is mixed up with the softmod info, it reall is quiet a mess IMO.

After a chip is installed, what CIOS' and IOS' are recommended and what do they do? Is there an Up to date list of Cios and ios that is needed after adding a modchip? And do I need a CIOS to use an external harddrive ?

you dont need anything after installing a chip. ios's are irrelevant to modchips. u put a chip in ur wii and play, thats it, do regular nintendo updates as u need them and thats all there is to it.

if u want to use a hard drive for loading games then ur talking about softmodding now. yes u will need to install many apps, ios/cios's, and any other software modding required for what u want. a modchip in no way has a role in any of that.

basically u do not need a modchip in order to softmod, and u dont need to softmod in order to use a modchip.
