How would you update your Wii if you have to with a Mod Chip inside of it?

Updating you wii is probably not the best idea. The new 4.1 update can brick your wii so try not to use it. Also if a game asks you to update and you do, make sure you have bootmii installed so your can run the homebrew channel and the firmware degrader. So it's best not to even think about updating it.

No not all Wii updates brick your wii, the worst offender is out of region updates and on game disc updates/Automatic updates may also depending on version.

Yes! you need to update as Nintendo release games that require different IOS, that is for both Softmod or Chip.

How would you update your Wii if you have to with a Mod Chip inside of it?

Usually by disc supported by that particular chip
