How to check the chip without opening Wii

    Hi,

Got some problems with our Wii....

My wife bought a modded Jap Wii from Hong Kong which I have no idea what chip it has in it. We bought it back to the UK, went online, which also updated the firmware on it to 4.1J.

How can I find out what chip is installed without opening and how is the configuration menu of chips normally accessed?

We can't play most original UK games. Also tried some backups using RegionFrii and BrickBlocker, quite a few don't work. Not sure what I need to do to get things working properly.

    Thanks in advance.

OK, I'll open up to have a look. Will the be clearly marked with a label or sticker?

I tried the eject button 3 times, nothing.

Hi, the chip has the the following stamped on it "D2C KEY-I7" or "D2C KEY-17". I guess this means it's some form of D2C chip. Where do I start from now? Do I still need backup launchers? Or simply download a D2C update CD?
