chipped wii

Hi all wondering if any one help bear in mind I am a total newbie and not really much of a techie , have a wii which I presuming is chipped as it was bought in thailand and plays backup games can I tell what kind of chip it is , secondly can you run homebrew on a chipped wii (this is only the start of the list of questions ) so any help really appreciated thanks in advance

do you have any documentation of the purchase stating the modchip? or did u just buy it blindly not knowing anything. u could try pressing (forgot which one, either the reset or eject button) 3 times, if its a drivekey or wasabi dx doing that will access the settings menu. the other way to find out is to open the wii up and look. yes, u can run homebrew on a chipped wii. that fact that u just asked that question means u havent researched anything. i would recommend u read most of the stickys in the guides/tutorial sections. they will teach just about everything you need to know about modding.
