Hopefully a unique what chip question!

Ok, hopefully this warrants a post and I'm not wasting everyones time because I suck at the search function.

First off I live in Chile. Wii's are more expensive here so I'm buying one online and shipping it to my friend who is flying back down.

First question I'm going to be playing games from different regions so that's my priority. All the chips should be fine with that.

I'm concerned with which version of the Wii to buy. Does it really matter? I'm going to take my Wii in to a place and have it modded here in Chile.

I will ask these guys tomorrow or something when I'm in that part of town but I wanted a 2nd opinion.

I'm just worried I buy a Wii get it down here and they can't mod it because it's the new serial number etc.

Ok, I've been reading a hell of a lot the last few hours. I'm thinking it really won't matter. Buy the Wii get it chipped and play games.

Anything I missed please let me know. This site is awesome and thanks for all the awesome guides written!

there are chips out for all types of wii's so cant really go wrong, the pricing is different on the chips so that would be the only thing.
