Smile Just got a Wii, what kind of chip should I get?

    Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a chip what doesn't need soldering. I simply wish to play my own region GameCube and Wii backups. Not intrested in homebrew games or w/e either.

    Can you suggest me anything?
Are there any major differences between chips?
Also, can I play backups online?

    Thanks

only major difference is read speed and difficulty installing
Drivekey is easy to install, plug in the ribbons, reassemble and you are done, only problem is 3x read speed which actually is not a problem at all, only a few games will suffer from lag in the video and load time will be *slightly* longer.
Wiikey needs to be soldered, so you obviously need skill there. full read speed is the benefit

    Thanks for the reply!

Now I have two choices here, which would you people recommend?

    Wasabi DX or DriveKey?

What I've read then both are fine but both also have problem with streaming NGC game audio. So as I've understood the backround music will be missing from GameCube games, right?

My Wii is GC2-D2E and most likely covered with epox (havent opened it yet).

get the DX and zero clip and run DX as a wasabi zero...or depending on drive maybe just get a solderless zero....it will run at 6x.
can enter serial # here http://www.wiidrives.com/list to check drive with out opening Wii

Wasabidx Plug and play solderless installation on ALL consoles (DMS, D2A, D2B, D2C, D2C2, D2E, epoxy D2E and D2nothing/D3 drives)
    hope this helps
