Virtual console for free?
Hi can someone explain how the virtual console works. Where are the games stored on the Wii after downloading them? I was wondering if there is anyway of dling the games from other sources and adding them to the virtual console. Thanks.

They are not free, you have to purchase them. However there may be an alternate way to get them via a modchip...
I believe it stores the VC games in the internal memory...

The virtual console is a channel in the Wii's main menu, after hooking up to your wireless router you can then go online and download things from nintendo to your Wii. The games are stored on the internal flash memory but can be backed up onto an external flash card. Some how they keep track of which Wii the games was downloaded to because i have tried to copy a backup of a game onto my Wii. Hopefully a modchip or some software will be discovered to remedy this. I think that the charge for the games are pretty decent, the most you will spend is $10USD for a game for the N64. Support nintendo if you like the game!
hopefully they will send some freebies our way after a while, I wish they had playable demos of some of the older games as i have never heard of some of them before

...in the future.
Couldn't I just make an account on Nintendo Europe and redeem points for my North American Wii?

I think that's not possible.. Wii points are zoned as I heard.. If you want to be sure, you could try using a Wii points code I got and redeem it... If it says "This Number is not available in your country", forget it.
Here's my Number:
1108 7568 8047 5355
But if it says it's already redeemed, maybe it's not zoned.. however you should check nintendo.com for more infos!
