upgrading firmware - Wiihacks

let me first say thank you for letting me be on wiihacks.com. Im a noob and anyhelp or direction would be appreciated. Hace a dc2pro mod chip in my wii. I just got done downloading sim city creator and burn it to a disc using "imgburn". When placed it in the wii it ask me to update, and I turn off the wii and did not update because I heard it can brick the wii. Looking through your sticky I notice "Wiu1.1 Region Patcher/Brick Blocker". Just wondering if this does a patch so I don't have to update or is there another program i can use. please any help would be appreciated, or if you guys need any more information please let me know.

if the game is from your region then its safe to do the updates, where are you located ?
You can use wiu or wum to check the region and rip out the updates if necessary.

Hi gocardsgo, welcome to the WiiHacks community.

Another way to check is to go to your Wii Settings and look in the top right corner and if it says 3.3 then your wii is already updated to latest and it would mean that the game is most likely from another region and should NOT be updated from.

I see what it was now I downloaded a "PAL" and I live in the us so i need "ntsc" thanks again

NTSC-U , there is also NTSC-J which is Japan so still watch out for that.
