Smile New Backup loader IS open source!
Wiigator has released a brand new Wii Backup Loader with better compatibility than Waninkoko's. The app has already caused some controversy due to the fact it's built around Gecko OS. Here is what [nuke] the primary author of Gecko OS had to say about it.

It has come to my attention that a coder who goes by the Nickname Wiigator has made an unofficial version of Gecko OS using some old GPL source code.
I just want to make it perfectly clear that I nothing to do with this release in any way, so please don't email me for support on this release.

Note:Works on standard wii av cables unlike waninkoko leaked version!

I am not responsible for any damage this does to your wii!
Instructions:

Install CIOS 249 WAD on your Wii using WAD Manger. (Remember + to execute)

Install DVDX through Homebrew Channel, select Advanced settings and choose 249. (Uninstall previous version)

Put dvd-backup.dol in apps folder, rename to boot.dol.

Patch ISO using backup creator.exe.

Burn ISO (Partition) using Nero or Imgburn. Use around 2x speed.

Cool Great new: Theres a Back up Loader that works now
Theres a new back up loader availaible for download. It's works with USA Wii's and rca cables unlike the leaked one. It's made by Wiigater and theres even a back up channel so all you have to do is put the back up in and select the channel and hit load. I bet you have to sign up on there site to veiw the page. I'm sorry. Don't know how to fix it so if your intersted go directly to that site and look around.
