Change Japanese Wii to US Wii possible? - Wiihacks

Hello!

As it seems there is little hope for my good old NTSC US Wii (see thread below from me) I am at least starting to look for a new Wii. I could get right now a second hand Wii that comes from Japan at a low price that also seems to be in really good condition.

I heard that there are ways now to install FW from different regions, is that true and this way will I also be able to use the Shop Channel for NTSC U regions?

I'm pretty sure you can change the region of your Wii with the AnyRegionChanger... Not sure about the Shop Channel, you'll have to wait for the pros to answer that XD

Yes it can be done. We have done several units already. Do a search in the forums and you will see a guide on how to do it.

I have the same problem as largo77,

what needs to be done?

I've been told that I should avoid hard hacks because they can screw up my system..

and if I was to do a search on the guide, what keywords in the search?
