As far as I'm concerned, at the moment a mod chip allows you to...
Play Trucha signed Wii backups
Play Gamecube backups
Load emulators and ROMs from DVDs
However, I don't believe a mod chip alone will allow you to run homebrew ELF files.
Am I missing anything? I only have a meager level of knowledge regarding mod chips.

All you need to run elf files is an SD card and Wii Zelda Twilight Princes game.
From there you cn install the homebrew channel and homebrew become alot easier.

You can not play Wii Game Copies without a modchip.

So what if I want my Zelda original game file back, I'd have to stop the twilight hack and reload my old save onto the wii from my SD card?
I guess if people want their old zelda on the wii they have to use the wii homebrew installer/uninstaller...

My understanding is that the Zelda TP save file is only needed to install the Homebrew channel, once its installed you can replace it with your actual save file. But I will let the experts confirm that.

You are correct.
Once you install the Homebrew Channel, you don't need the Twilight Hack save file anymore, you can get rid of it and bring your personal Twilight Princess save file back onto your Wii System Memory and keep it there. That's why it's easier to just install the homebrew channel, so you don't have to keep backing up your personal Twilight Princess save file everytime you want to use homebrew.

Hi, I'm currently playing without problems Lost Wind with the HB Channel but I installed other Wii Ware games after that and no one is working. My firmware is the 3.1E, there is any possibility that this is the problem? Without an internet access which is the best way to update it to the 3.2E? I read that Mario Kart does it but I have it and I dont get how to update. (I have a d2pro modchip if its important)
Thanks
