1.) yes HBC/TW is need for homebre stuff it can be done on a modded and unmodded wii
2)if you use the HBC iso you do not need the TW hack BUT WILL NEED A MODDED WII TO RUN THE INSTALL DVD
3) .elf files are files that run when using HBC/TW you could look at it this way they are like .exe files but for the wii. Any appliaction you will get will be a .elf file.
4) wiiware is games made for the wii that can be downloaded via the shopping channel VC (virtual console) are old school games for the n64,snes etc that can be downloaded from the shopping channel and played on the wii

Thanks for the helpful description. Just one question. Am I correct the the WiiWare and VC games come as .wad files and these are loaded with a Wad Installer which I assume would be a .elf file that would need to be installed on the homebrew channel first?

The basic file for a WiiWare or VC title is .WAD. WADs actually represent channels, so channels like Everybody Votes and Check Mii Out can also be downloaded and installed as WAD files.

The WAD installer is an ELF, but it can be run either by the Homebrew Channel or the Twilight Hack. And sorry for the confusing description earlier, but there's really no simple way to describe how to run ELFs in the Homebrew Channel.

alright guys need some help

i have a modded japanese wii

i downloaded the homebrew channel iso
i also downloaded wad manager

i dont have zelda twilight princess

how do instal the wad manager

do i need the twighlight hack

what should i do now and do i need anything else???????
