ImpalerWadInjector

This Application allows users to take their rom and "inject" it into an existing wad file. This allows the user to install it on the WII using WadInstaller and play it as a VC game that was purchased.

Tried this out to get the SNES Mortal Kombat II but it didn't work. The app has promise though. I think the issue is specific to this ROM because some PC emulators can't run it correctly either.

I noticed one catch is that the ROM you are replacing inside the WAD file must be larger than the one you are inserting or it will tell you there isn't enough space.

In the case of MKII, I'd get the first splash screen but then the screen just goes black for good after that... and sometimes, completely locks up the console forcing a hard reset.

I tried these WAD files with both 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the MK2 ROM:

Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3
Super Metroid

These were the only WAD files I had that were large enough to even attempt it.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone could get the MK2 ROM working.
