Un - Semi-bricking for a noob.

Hey, new on these forums and have very little experience with Wii-Hacking.

I was wondering the following,

I Semi-Bricked my NTSC-U Wii, the serial number starts with LU308.... and I assume it is a D2B Drive Chip,

I'm not sure what Mod-Chip is employed in it, but I assume its older than a Wii-Key due to my Drive chip.

So here's the story:

I recently semi-bricked my Wii by trying to play an import of Mario Kart, which is strange that this bricked it, since I have already played Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Strikers with PAL original disks and had no trouble with them.

Mario Kart however, bricked it, and I'm pretty sure Mario Kart is an NTSC-U Disk, although it is not an original I don't understand why it would brick it wit the update it.

So I'm about to try and run "NTSC-U Semi Brick Fix Disc" I assume I just burn the 3 files without any other modifications and putting the Disc in the Wii.

That'll unbrick it, but then how do I get that copy of Mario Kart to work,

If I insert the disk after un-bricking will it try to update again, or will it just go straight to the game and give me "ERROR #001 UNAUTHORIZED...".

And if it tried to update and I pull the cord at 10%, will I be able to play Mario Kart without bricking the Wii, or will I have to modify something else to be able to play the game.

If so what should I do?

Oh and I'm on a Mac, not windows, so dunno if there's a way to use RegionFrii or any other app to modify my ISO's.

UPDATE:

OK, unbricked my Wii fine, however when I insert Mario Kart, it doesn't prompt an update, so can't try the whole pull the cord thing.

So I'm on firmware 3.2U, and I'm thinking the only way to play this game is if I patch it, which is strange because I'm 100% sure it's an NTSC COPY (Not original), or at least that's what I was told.

So if I'm getting this error, it must be a different region right?

Also, I'm currently trying to rip the ISO on a mac, it's proving quite difficult, and then going to try and use WiiJunkie to patch it and try again.

UGHH, I just want to play MARIO KART!

UPDATE 2:

OK just realized my mac doesn't recognize Wii burnt games, it says the disc is empty. Going out of my mind.

UPDATE 3:

Finally got it working, turns out I have a WiiKey chip, updated it to 1.9g, and everything is going smoothly.

Took a while though.
